About Me
I am an 18-year-old college student living in Massachusetts but attending college in Connecticut, where I am currently an English major with a concentration in Creative Writing. I plan to add a double major in Digital Journalism though I still have to press submit on the form!
I’ve been writing since middle school, mostly creatively. I started on Wattpad (shamefully), but after my story received almost 200k readers, I realized that I may have a knack for writing. Since then, I’ve entered numerous short story competitions, notably receiving runner-up in “Short Editions” 2019 national flash fiction competition and receiving an honorable mention in “Women on Writings” 2020 flash fiction competition. However, I would say I’m most proud of self-publishing my novel “The Last One” through Amazon when I was 15.
My transition to journalistic writing wasn’t until high school when I co-ran my school’s literary magazine with two other students. Even then, I stuck to the creative side. Once I got to college, I started writing for my school’s newspaper, “The Mirror,” which I credit for making me realize how much I love journalism and journalistic writing. I’m currently the Opinion Editor for the paper, and I love writing articles about topics I feel strongly about and reading articles from other students. They provide a new perspective to view college and even life.
A negative to being a writer is that I always have something on my hands but nothing to do with it. My Google docs are filled with short stories, novel excerpts, and rants about how society functions, but I never had anything to do with them. This website will provide an outlet for me to share my writing while I work on some bigger projects, hopefully, my second novel if I find the time to finish it!
